Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I think anyone who owns a kitchen needs a go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe. This has been our go-to recipe since I can remember. This recipe produces a soft cookie. If you leave them in the oven a tad longer you will get a crunchy cookie.

The cookies come out thick and soft. They're easy to make and bake quickly so a good chocolate chip cookie is never more then a mix away.

The cookie dough itself is A-M-A-ZING. Its light and creamy. If it didn't have a egg in it, I wouldn't think twice about eating the whole batch of dough.

The cookies brown nicely, giving you the ideal looking and tasting chocolate chip cookie.

Recipe:

1/2 C butter (softened)
1/2 C brown sugar
1/4 C granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 1/4 C flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
6 ounces chocolate chips

(Makes about 24 small cookies)

Directions:

Preheat Oven to 350. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
1. Cream together the butter and the sugars.
2. Add in the egg and vanilla and mix.
3. Mix together the flour baking soda and salt and add this to the wet mixture.
4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown. Try to resist the urge to eat all of the dough before it makes it to the oven!

Note: if you want a more crunchy cookie leave them in the oven for a minute longer then expected.
